OpenTom and VNC

So I got this crazy idea in my head. I have a VW Passat and the OBD cable is specific to VW's. Because of its proprietary nature there is not in-kernel support and no third party reverse engineered driver afaik. I recieved a TomTom Go 930 back in Dec for Christmas and I shortly found out that it runs linux. My idea is fairly simple, though I know it would take a bit of technical know-how to pull it off.

Carputer running diagnostic software --> VNC Server --> data/network connection via USB, bluetooth, or SD to 802.11b/g card --> VNC Client running in OpenTom w/ touch screen support.

Is this possible to pull off because it would totally kick butt
