Recomend a distro? - Page 3

I read this thread and thanks alot for all the links, I do Have a question however. I live in Minnesota and it gets cold. Cold enough to stop a hard drive from spinning. So I was looking for a suggestion about a linux distro that would work on a flash drive. I have a 6 gig, and im not even sure that its possible but could you concievably just get a usb hub and string a few of these together?

Sorry for all the questions, any help/suggestions, or just a hey dummy look at this thread would be great.

DSL will fit on a flash drive. There are several distros that are made for booting from flash. Just google "linux boot flash". Slax will boot from my iPod nano.

P.S. It doesn't get cold in Minnesota....

If you have 6 gb that is plenty enough for many distributions. I believe if you do a server install with ubuntu, and install xorg and any other apps you might want you'll have a full system up that takes up less than 1GB. Maybe xubuntu is an option but I don't know what the full install takes up. I've tried using DSL and didn't like it much, but anyone would be different.
