Linux Vector GPS Application
Has anyone tried RoadMap? http://roadmap.digitalomaha.net/
It appears to be kind of a dead project.. but it ran on my Fedora Core 2 system, installed from binary, using the gtk2 linked version.
Seems like this is the best pure Linux mapping program I have found that actually uses vector graphics.
Sorry.. rastor based graphics in GPSDrive seems the wrong way to go..

Cool, I assume it looks so good because it is drawing through GTK which now uses Cairo to render graphics.

Gui ToolKit
It compiles against either QT3 or GTK2 I think (I downloaded the binary to look at functionality).
If it were updated to use QT4.1, all of that would be Anti-Alaised, and could have Alpha blended components.
The 2nd link posted looks good! Anybody tried that? The page says "not ready for the masses" which means to me "doesn't work".

Looks promising but unfortunately it's US-only at least for now.

That's not the right screenshot. That's for "RoadMap". This program is called "Roadster". It has some beautifully rendered maps (much like google's):

Heh.. we keep talking about different projects here. I've never heard of RoadNav. Looks promising, though.
