Nothing that I have found yet. Honestly, so many people right this off so quickly I have only come across a few people really willing to try. I had a few other ideas to play with that would make it more operational.
It would all depend on the car, but you could use a touchpad or the lil damn red button mouse thing IBM uses on their notebooks (would take some work). Also considered trying to take a usb remote not sure how small you can find one and use that.... I use a remote for my stereo anyways. I also was thinking of trying to put a trackball into a shift knob (one of the tiny trackballs like they put in the laptop mice). Could also attempt using some OEM nav hard wear like a BMW I drive controller possibly...... I have seen many inovative things on xbox-scene.com for home use, problem is not as many people wanna try it in a car.
I totally understand the thing about being self employeed, I am in management so I set my hours.... but I get a cap on how much OT I can work, so when I go home my cars are my release from work. In the end they are all toys to me, no reason for anyone to take any of it this serious, you guys love your carputers, I love building **** that other people wouldn't..... not like that many people have tried.
Search these forums for XBOX in the title of a thread, see how many of them actually pertain to even attempting to use and XBOX as a carputer. Not many, and most were never even fully answered, other than don't do it. Yes I know the hardware is old (but so is the 700mhz PC someone said I should buy instead of an XBOX). Not saying everyone should go out and buy one, but the XBOX is gonna continue to drop in price.... sooner or later for less than 100 you will be able to get an xbox and a 30-40gig, **** I have 4 CD decks sitting here worth more than that.
