Anyone with an 8" lilliput? Question on refresh

Was wondering what people used for HorizRate and VertRefresh in xorg.conf

I have this problem that is really annoying me. Whenever X starts (800x600), my screen goes nuts. Toggling the power fixed this so originally I solved this by using xset to turn it on and off.

Then I got it fixed a week or two ago by playing with HorizRate and VertRefresh .

Anyway, this weekend I had just about everything just so this weekend, and before I put it back in the car, I decided to upgrade some packages.

Big mistake. Killed the system. Died halfway through. I got everything back fine except X related stuff. Kept complaining about it missing xserver-xorg-dev (IIRC). Also wouldn't let me uninstall anything that was installed and relied on that package. I tried grabbing the package manually, but still wouldn't install.

Said ***** it and just redid the entire system on a bigger HD. Now the same xorg.conf isn't working. Getting the nutty screen again. (Also lost the second head on composite going with the newest nvidia driver )

Well, I finally hit on an idea that I should have earlier, but spaced on.

Like I said, the lilliput works fine if toggled on and off. So I looked at the menu and the entry where it displays the current mode info.

At 800x600. It listed horizontal at 46.9khz and the vertical at 75hz.

So I took a guess, I divided the horizontal by the vertical lines and came up with, approx 78.16

So plugged in 78.16 for HorizSync and voila! It works. Boots right into X without the screen going nuts.

One problem though, now it comes up into a lower refresh rate. 37.9khz x 60hz. Weird. But good enough for now. I'll have to play with it some more when I get a chance.
