Linux GPS - Roadster
Hi everybody,
I just tried Roadster, finally after few hacks I was able to compile it, and actually the project looks really promising. It generates maps in same style as google's maps does. It uses tiger data, and works pretty fast on 1GHz machine.
The project is really in early development state, but with little help it can become a native linux map solution. Gps and routing portion still needs to be done. GPS tracking, map centering, even map rotation to follow the route direction are pretty easy to implement, but routing seems to be more complicated, especially that Tiger data does not contain any information about one way roads, intersections, etc. Any ideas about routing algorithms?
