Got a PCMCIA video cap for cheap and it works well!

Just got a PCMCIA TV/video capture card (saa1734 philips) for cheap and it works well. Now I can capture from my front - rear cams and avoid dealing with the lack of auto-switching with my lilliput. Easy on the CPU too.

Paid $38 shipped.

tuner=54 card=13.

Still having an issue getting alsa to work though.

Originally, I was looking for usb ones but couldn't find any that worked under Video4linux. Hell, I bought a monitor a couple weeks ago at newegg and when I was about to check out, said buy with "USB TV Tuner Pro" and because it had a $40 instant rebate, the price was the same as just for the LCD.

Of course, no linux love with that one. Are there any that work?

i can always send you my usb one and you can send it back if you don't like it. I have like 5 tuner cards now (went on a buying spree after i met up with billforde) and i don't need that one. Its not a tv tuner, its a video grabber that allows you to record whatever you feed into it. I was thinking of using it as a nitemax recorder for PB, but skirmish is over
