Myth: install

I am having a hard time with my MYTH 2.0 install. I am running Ubuntu 6.06 on a Via M12000 512 megs.... (should I upgrade to 6.10? i am DL'n it now)

I got the repositories open and installed Myth. but i cant get the shell to work properly or connect to my backend at all when i log in as mythtv user. I've gone thorugh a bunch of tutorials. This is the one i found to be the clearesr so far, but i am having no luck.

Is there another options for a easy install frontend. I do intend to us Myth at some point but I have a whole list of other things to work out with Linux also.

Well, I decided to start over rather than go back and fix all the changes I made.

Maybe by installing edgy I will have better luck.

Try KnoppMyth, particularly if all this computer is going to run is MythTV: http://www.mysettopbox.tv/knoppmyth.html
