Sorry, we are moving the server to a more secure/stable location. For now, these mirrors work:
http://linuxice.lhsw.com
or
http://drivn1.nextabyte.com:8888/
But you should probably be using the torrent of beta1 (which is the current latest) if you can.

FYI:
Karmic Alpha 5 fixes most (if not all) the pulseaudio issues. I have it playing audio out of my spdif setup without having had to configure anything outside of selecting the appropriate device via the GUI interface.
Nasa
PS -- gpsd, however, is somewhat broke in Karmic
PS(2) -- usbtouchscreen driver works in Karmic (although it took multiple calibration attempts
to get it right). Advantage is no need to compile in new drivers. Ubuntu maintainers
seem interested in having touchscreens work with Karmic across the board.

Glad to hear it. We'll look at a karmic or karmic+1 based release for Anino+1.

Pulseaudio should now work in the latest daily live: "LinuxICE2-2009-09-24.iso". If you can test it and make sure sound works it'd be much appreciated. I can get beta 2 out this weekend if all goes well.
Thanks!

My mirror only syncs daily and before Kev's post so likely before he pushed it up. I kicked off the script so it should be there later. Wishing I had time to try it myself

Today's image (25), has a few good surprises in it:
- trayer tray area + network-manager applet
- new navit skin
- more pulseaudio fixes

Tonight's image is a good step in preparation for RC1. The bug squashing event included:
* new nGhost shutdown UI
* Default resolution set to 800x600 via xrandr
* Patched Gpsd; rules for common OBD-II devices; updated ObdGpsLogger to v0.10
What does it mean?
Well, for one, no configuration of gps or obd devices AT ALL. True plug-and-play (take that Windows :P ). The rest is just incremental improvements.
If you can test out obdgpslogger, please do. Plug in your scantool and see if it starts up (ps -A | grep obdgpslogger).
Thanks!

Pre-RC1
I'm calling tonights version Pre-RC1 (20091021). It's got everything I want in there (including an updated/fixed ncarinfo plugin).
Please, please if you can verify any of the following please do so. The faster we can get it verified the faster we can release RC1.
Testing checkoff:

Tested in my car tonight (D945GCLF2, so dual core 1.6ghz atom 330, integrated graphics). Logging every step I take here:
Booted from CD no problem.
Was prompted to select a wireless network immediately - nice!
My lilliput eby701 touch screen doesn't work. Unplugged GPS from extension cable to plug in keyboard, but the keyboard doesn't do anything. Plugged in a mouse - now I'm able to navigate past the home screen.
No sounds played by the UI (not sure if there should be or not).
Clicked the GPS button, got a blank nav screen. Unplugged mouse, plugged in GPS. Nothing seemed to change, but I am inside the garage so that's not a valid test. Plugged mouse back in instead.
Nothing in the music library. Found the terminal emulator, mounted my hard drive. Used the file manager to open an mp3. Mplayer opened up and played successfully. The volume slider at the bottom of my screen did nothing. Tried to adjust the mplayer volume, missed and clicked on something else and got a fatal error: "MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: key_events" followed by 3 other error messages. Closed errors and MPlayer.
Copied the mp3 to the Music folder via the file manager. It still didn't show up in the music library. Not sure how to test the built in media player.
Opened the copied-over mp3 from the file manager again. Missed the volume slider in mplayer again, and this time got a garbled box (probably was an error message) with random lines going across it instead of text. Can't get back to the home screen anymore - MPlayer is stuck open at a black screen. Can still open the file manager and OSK though using the nav bar at the bottom though.
Can't get to the power menu, so I hit the power button. CD spat out and I had to press enter before the computer would turn off - not acceptable for us who only run touchscreen.
Powered back on... Tried to hibernate, but it didn't work - something pops up underneath the shutdown menu (maybe a confirmation dialog?). Then my car battery died and my m2-atx shut down the computer instead.
Dead tired. I'm going to bed.
edit-
Plugged the battery charger in. Played with hibernate/hybrid-sleep/shutdown buttons - the popups all appear beneath the shutdown menu, so I can't tell what they are. It also seems like you can open up whatever that popup is multiple times. Then my computer shut down, though it said that "powering off NOW" thing several times in the console.
Can't turn the computer back on anymore (not sure why), so I'm really going to bed this time. Next time I test, it may be with a Zotac ION D-E instead, because this is my 3rd D945GCLF2 that's had problems - first it was the shutdown problem (which may not have been a board issue), then a dead USB port, and on this one the CMOS keeps getting reset. I'm hoping the extra graphics power will fix the choppy playback problems I have with some of my anime.

This observation is mostly aimed at nghost...
When playing music from a folder it seems that mplayer is restarted with each song. The problem with this is that the volume is reset to the initial mplayer volume. With my setup, I have lirc + pulseaudio to control my volume -- so I would perfer a method to set the mplayer volume to 100% and leave it there. Is that possible?

Thanks for the input. I'll look and fix those issues.
nasa: Mplayer shouldn't be reseting between songs. I'll have a look at that as well. You should be able to set mplayer's volume up to 100% and leave it there forever.

Okay, now that I have a little more time I'll reply more in detail.
GuySmily: touchscreen and hibernate won't work with the livecd until post-install and after you run iceinstall & icetouch. The livecd will also prompt you to press ENTER before you shutdown. This won't happen after install either.
I'm curious to see if GPS works when you are outside. I'll have a look at touchscreen setup and make sure that works fluidly. I'll also make sure nGhost sees music when it's added.
Looks like despite my hopes, there's more work to do. Thanks guys!

If it'll work on a LiveUSB I'll take a look at it for you. No CD drive in my car.
