LinuxICE Mirroring

If you have extra server bandwidth and want to contribute, the following cron job will sync with the linuxice download server daily:

Code:
30 23 * * * rsync -arzv --delete-after rsync://linuxice@linuxice.openice.org/linuxice/ /dir/to/www

PM me and I'll add you to the mirror cluster.

If you are providing a mirror, please make sure your mirror is running and syncing daily.

Thanks!

All is well again for the server. We have enough mirrors. It's our redirection server that's going up/down.

Thanks!

rsync error: timeout in data send/receive (code 30) at io.c(200) [sender=3.0.5]

we had a bandwidth limiter running. That may have been causing it. Try now.

Still failing. In case it helps anyone else (and likely the server), here is a script to limit it to only one rsync process. I was getting multiple running when they hung (but getting connection timed out right now).

p.s. Sorry I have not had time to help with anything lately. Hopefully that will change soon.

cgalpin: i noticed that you have a bunch more image files on your server than on the host. Is it something in our rsync that doesn't delete images that are not there?

Yeah, I should have checked the rsync options (I just used whatever you posted). We need to use "--delete-after" to make sure the old files get deleted. It will only delete after a successful sync, not before.

I'll update mine and run a sync.

Haha, works great except I forgot it syncs my whole /var/www so it deleted everything including the mirror script. You'll need to add it to linuxice.openice.org if you think it will be useful to others.
