Most of us are frequently found using yahoo IM (under giam of course . You can find more info here
I've been trying to wrap my head around how to implement a plugin-able system. I'd be interested to learn what you know. Your help is much appreciated, thanks.

Very nice skin... what are you using for a audio backend?

oh i like that much more than the current skin [default]! cant wait for the new release guys!

(i'm currently trying to get my sound card working again, it worked for a day or so, then when ever i open i song using nghost it's really staticy and gets worse the longer the song plays, currently not sure if its a driver/kernel issue (i dont think so b/c i dont have the problem w/ mpg123) or a mplayer problem, or a nghost issue )

but still cant wait

I just got the branches set up. Currently, experimental is the only semi-stable version (which is kinda weird for an experimental branch). Most of our work is done in unstable (which is currently broke). The "main" branch is reserved for releases/stable updates but because of the newness of the branches it contains a much less up-to-date version of unstable.

Right now we are currently working on integrating a pluginable database system. This will make switching between mysql (for speed) or sqlite (for size) for the database backend as easy as changing a line in the config file. The code is in but there is a lot of debugging to be done so we can fix it. It has taken a bit longer than expected but we'll get it done as soon as the devs and myself can devote more time to finishing up the release.

[update] unstable is no longer broke

Dvb-t?

Somewhat unrelated, but I'll ask just the same. Are there any good applications for viewing DVB-T/S for SDL? Any plans for integrating one in nGHOST?

Mplayer, nGhost's media backend has support for DVB. Support for this in nGhost is not currently planned at this stage. It may be available as a possibility later as an extension.

I'm awaiting your next release. Any sort of timeframe as to when it may be done? Love the new look of the frontend.

We are in the pre-release-candidate stage. All that is left is some debugging in the sqlite area and bug fixing. very soon it'll be ready for an official release.

i think i've traced this back to how ever nghost calls mplayer .. if i use JUST mplayer to play the music the songs are normal, but if i use nghost to play the music the songs are all distorted, if any one has any suggestions that would be really great! i'm trying to get my box into my car by saturday as i have a trip to take this weekend and it would be nice to have nghost along for the ride

-thanks!

by my mistake, the default equalizer settings are really bad (i tested them out on my laptop). The bass levels are too high and cause distortion. You'll probably want to edit your nghost options.conf and play with the equalizer settings (or just comment them out ).

The upcoming version has straight zeros for the eq settings. Also, I usually enable cache in mplayer's mplayer.conf file for increased performance -especially when playing music cd's or dvd's.

Wow. Your new interface looks really nice, kudos!

I didn't like much the one you can find on most screenshots. I'll have to test this one soon
