Audio "hickup" after starting the car

I had this issue after I first installed my Mini, but then it inexplicably cleared up, but now it seems to be coming back.

My Mini is set to sleep/wake with the car's ignition. Every now and then it will wake as expected and music starts playing then about 2 seconds after it started, you won't hear the music for about a second, then it comes back and is fine. When I lose the audio, the Mac is still playing the current track.

I'm running AMP for my frontend, but it used to happen with FrontRow too. I have noticed that if I pause/next/prev as soon as I get the touch screen control, it will not have this hickup.

My P1900 is powered off a distribution block which also supplies my rear and sub Amps (4G from the battery and 8G from the distro). I use the dlyon line from the P1900 to all three of my Amps.

My Amps are all off when they should be and on when they should be.

Anyone else experienced anything similar or have any ideas?

Thanks,
-dave

I have noticed this on non-car mac's before and I always assumed it was the drive still spinning up, the first burst of sound being what was still in cache/ram when the cpu was slept. Just my assumption.

A buffer sounds reasonable. I don't know about the others but AMP uses NSMovie to play music. The docs for the init method appear to indicate that it is loading the entire file into memory (thus buffering shouldn't be the issue), but since you would use the same method to load a 3GB movie file I have to wonder if it isn't doing some buffering behind the scenes.

Thanks for the input, glad i'm not the only one
