Mac Mini / Carnetix 1900 - Setting up Workbench

I've got the 3 now.
- Intel Mac Mini
- Carnetix P1900
- ATX Power from my PC

I need to set up the macmini for testing with the PSU.
Can someone guide me on wiring for testing purposes.
I've read somewhere to use a switch to simulate ignition too.

Pls help...

Exactly as you have said, follow the wiring diagram as in the P1900 and have a switch on ignition wire to test it is set up right...

It is pretty straight forward, but make sure you do follow the diagram to avoid any mishaps.

The hardest part i found, (and it was still pretty easy) was choosing the jumper settings....

And do remember that the P1900 has a timed lockout to prevent starting the mini back up within a period of time after sleep... If you do forget it will appear to you that it is not working, so try to....

Probably a stupid question, but how do you power the P1900 in the house? I'm probably going to pick up a 2140 soon and I want to work with it inside while I play with the USB interface. I have an AC -> DC converter that will power small devices, but nothing to simulate battery/Alt power.

I believe it is 60 seconds, and it is after both power on and power off (so if you kill the ignition within 60 seconds, it will stay on for the remainder of the time).

go over to the carnetix website and they have a nice little video explaining the led sequences. this will explain the lockout features and the timing of the light. its a good source to help explain what the p1900 is doing.

here is the link to the video.

http://www.carnetix.com/support.html

scroll down to p1900 and it is listed there. there is also a wiring diagram specifically for the mini

hope this helps
