Partially blocking mini exhaust vent?

Disclaimer: I figured that since this is relating to my mini install it should go here. If it does not belong here, please let me know for when I ask my future questions.

I am working on building a dock for my intel duo mini. I am going to be installing the dock in the center armrest pocket (mini will be mounted vertically with cd slot pointed up) of my mazda6. I just realized that there is a mounting bracket under my armrest pocket that will be blocking about 1 inch of the exhaust port of the mini (exhaust port of the mini is about 2.5 inches). Since I am planning to add 2 fans to the armrest assembly for added circulation, do you think that this blockage might be a problem?

Also, I will be placing the carnetix P1900 under this pocket in a slightly awkward location to access. How often may I have to get to this PS once it is installed?

If any pictures are needed for clarification, I can post them.

Thanks for the input.

Edit: If this has been covered, sorry. I forgot to search... I'm going to bed now since I can't seem to remember to search before posting.

Seems like the Mac forum is the best place to ask something about a Mac

The exhaust is on the rear of the Mini and is fairly large. As long as your intake vents (more of them but much smaller (along the bottom edge most of the way around)) aren't blocked I would imagine that you'll be fine.

I have a similar setup to what you are describing. I put my fans in last summer because I was parking outside at work and it would bake my pocket. Over the winter I moved to a new office building that has a garage and I haven't had to use the fans at all (except when we camped at the beach) and it has actually been hotter.

If your profile didn't say you had a Mazda 6, i'd swear you were repeating my install
Once everything is installed and working as desired, probably never. While you are getting everything sorted out, enough to be irritating when you have to do it

Where do you think I got the plans for my dock Thank goodness there isn't a patent on it Thanks for the idea, and the help.

I am currently in the initial build stage of the dock. I will be starting a worklog soon since I plan to have a completely stock look to the system when I am done.
