any known problems running under bootcamp

I was just wondering if there were any known problems that would be a hinderance to carpc applications on a macmini running under bootcamp with windows xp.

I've just spent a lot of time fiddling with a machine that I bought from someone, but it does not work so I've decided to go ahead and buy a prebuilt pc(or mac in this case) to ease most of the headaches associated with building your own machine. So I just wanted to make sure the components i'm using don't have any known problems.

Im using or going to be using the following:
Macmini 1.66 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo 512MB ram, 60GB hdd
Carnetix PSU CNX-P1900 Ver. 2.2
MacPac Power Cable Kit
Sirius USB adapter from rush2112.net
BU-353 GPS
4 channel amp

Now the only thing i've read is that the audio on the mac mini can be finnicky. Are a lot of people having these problems, and if so what specifically is the problem.

Also how is it at getting the screen resolution for a 7" lcd screen, I believe it is 800X480. I am planning on buying the old mini with the Intel GMA 950 graphics processor with 64MB of DDR2 memory if that makes a difference.

Thank you guys

I was considering doing exactly what you're planning but I'm running a Griffin Firewave for sound and I have no idea if it'll work under bootcamp.

Lol, I know where you're at. I wouldn't usually ask such a mundane question, but i'm just so frustrated because i've spent the last week fiddling with this other computer and I just want everything to work like it is supposed to if I get the mini. No surprises, lol.

A Mac running Bootcamp is just like any other Windows PC. It will be fine, probably better than a normal Windows system considering its size and all-in-one design. I am considering a Mac Mini for a CarPC too (or possibly a hacked AppleTV, even smaller).

It's official, the Griffin Firewave does not work under bootcamp. No windows drivers.

I bought a Griffin Firewave for my iMac, and just realize it does not work under bootcamp, now I don't know what to do with this FireWave that I bought recently while I'm using Windows OS..

Has anyone made a driver for it yet? Just wondering, that would be wonderful if there is one out there.

No one has made a Windows driver for FireWave and in my opinion no one will. FireWire interface is not that popular on Wintel, there are many alternative USB or PCI solutions for multi-channel sound... Developing drivers for some "obscure Mac-only hardware with that weird interface" is just waste of time.

aww.. what you say I agree, but the thing is I just got my FireWave yesterday, and it's very hard to accept that fact it's not compatible with Windows OS

Well, no one ever claimed it was supported on Windows. We have a saying: "Measure twice, cut once"

I've only found 2 windows compatible devices that do what the firewave does.

Both are USB of course.
