Does Speakables work in car?

Has anybody tried Speakables in the car environment? I am looking for a voice recognition/control solution to use with ny MacMini. I will running Parallels for any XP stuff that is not available for Mac. I have an '07 Tundra that is well sound deadened and has a very quiet interior when the windows are up. I also have a good spot to mount my Mic (top of the steering column) that will put the Mic directly in front of my about 18" from my mouth.

Are there any other options I should try? I briefly looked at iListen, but don't want to spend $175 on it.

I tried speech recognition with a standard microphone (from a car handsfree kit). I did not use the speakable items, but my own code (NSSpeechRecognizer). It works, but it depends very much on the level of background noise. I suppose it should work fine with some better microphone, that has active noise-supression built in.

Ready except for navigation which works, but is not quite ready for end-user deployment yet.

However the basic package that only contains Google Maps-based navigation could eventually ship right now (it costs Euro 99). Just note that at this moment, we can only accept PayPal and wire transfer as payment.
