Mac Parts Available
Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you all know that I have many and can get all Apple parts for you (power buttons anyone). This forum has been invaluable to me so I'll pass these items on at cost + shipping.

Mostly what I have or can get are internal parts. For instance, in my installation I'm using a G5 PowerMac button built into my dash to turn the machine on. To be honest I don't think I would have a lot for you. Sadly I cannot sell the computers at cost, it not my department or I would find a way to. If you bought an older mini I would get you a airport card, or BT card for it. Some people like to but the N standard cards from MacPros into their Minis, I could provide you with one (though those may be available elsewhere.

The power button, how easily would it be to mod that into the dash. I'm debating between a power button, and a DC DC switch that'll just delay turn on/off the computer.

really depends on the dash. Most hard plastic flat surfaces are very easy to mount in, for instance consoles, blank bottons, etc. Mines just glued from the back. Cut a hole to fit, then glue. The wiring is easy with the MacPac wiring adapter which I hope you'll use from Carnetix.

No. Without a MacPac cable, you have to slice the powerbrick cable to tap into it to power the mini. The MacPac was the greatest invention in CarPCs since the touchscreen when it comes to minis in the car

What exactly is it's function? Also, do you know anywhere to get a "cheap" mac mini, i.e below the 600 retail? preferably around 3-400$

It connects the carnetix to the macs powerbutton - sort of. That way you don't have to worry about shutting the mac down, the box does it for you.

the macpac is just the cord that attaches to the inside of the mini on the board so that it can send the signal. it is just a normal hacked cord. you can not do anything with just the "macpac"
