Audio Advantage Micro vs. Mini Stereo Out

I'm having alot of issues with my audio advantage micro on my mac mini running XP SP2 thru bootcamp. If i keep the cable to the stereo input short and continue to use my ground loop isolator, is the sound gonna be that bad? How many of you use the standard out on the mini w/o problems?

It might help to know a little bit more about the problems you are having.

Also, most of us here run OS X so that could limit any help we can offer.

For me personally, when I first installed my Mini I had a bunch of problems with the headphone jack not remembering that something was plugged in when it would boot/wake. After a recent failed attempt at a FW sound card, I tried it again rather than reinstalling my old M-Audio POS and it has been working fine since the first few days (major ground loop issues while waking, but it cleared up on it's own ).

I got alot of "bad direct sound drivers" because it wouldn't immediately initialize on start up. It would actualy take about 10-20 extra seconds to start playing music, if the bad sound driver error didn't come up and halt everything. I actually just realized a few minutes ago that the drivers for the internal sound car were not installed, so that may have caused the problems. I'm still jsut wondering if i should even bother with the USB sound card.

look into the edirol/roland ua-1ex. its a usb soundcard interface and it works great with the typical ground loop isolator i use.
