Help on waking up a mac mini in safe sleep...

Hi guys,

I think I've seen something on this before but I couldn't find it again, so I decide to create a new post and hope you guys can point me to the right direction.

I've been thinking of getting a mac mini to put in my car for a while and recently I've bought it. After reading up on the forums, I've decided to probably go with P1900 or P2140 for power. Also, I think I'll be setting up safe-sleep so when I kill the ignition, it goes to hibernate.

Testing the safe-sleep theory, I've set it up in my room before installing it in the car, and I've realized 1 thing. How do you wake the mac up from safe-sleep state? The way I'll be installing the mac mini, I won't be able to reach the power button @ the back.

I remember reading something somewhere about using a powered USB hub, or some wiring to the P1900, but I just can't seem to find it again.

Sorry for the noob post. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I saw the macPac, but not quite sure how it works... I mean, I know the Y-cable splits the mac power button on one end. Do I connect the other end to the P1900? So when i turn my key, the PSU triggers a power-button press?

Also, is there something similar for the P2140?

Once again, sorry if this is a noob post. Still trying to learn.

The MacPac works with the P2140. And you know, all your questions have already been answered either on this forum or on the carnetix website/forum. Don't be so lazy, search :P

Thanks! Bugbyte and bpwned. I didn't realize there's a plug in the iSense cable that connects the Y cable. Everything makes sense now Sorry for the noob questions.
