Why do my movies take 3-5 min to load on mini?

I am running an intel mini. I have some movies (avi format) being run via perian. Anyhow, in the house, standard mac connections, the movies load instantly.

In the car though, im basically waiting a good3-5 minutes before a movie will load.

Anyone have any ideas?

Try VLC. It works pretty quickly. Maybe Perian is looking for some kind of network connection but has to wait until it times out?

As BugByte says, network access attempt is the likely cause.

Try running "Little Snitch" to say if this is the case:

Thanks for the tips. However...the problem has gone away. I don't know what it was. When I got my new screen for Xenarc, the problem vanished. Everything now loads up instantly.

It seems that your screen works miracles.
