Possible System Wide Equalizer/Volume Adjustments

I found this on Apple's downloads site today. It's an application called Hear, that looks like it is a stand alone system-wide equalizer/surround simulator/lots of other audio adjustments for the OS X.

Sometimes I use iTunes for playing music in the car, and I have some pretty nice EQ presets in that, but when I go back to AMP, I can definitely notice the difference. Hopefully this will take care of that.

Does anyone know any more about this, or have any experience with it?

i don't know anything about that but I do know where itunes saves its per song eq setting so one could modify AMP to simply use them. I myself am doing that with NBB.

I installed this and played with it for a while and it's great! It works well with AMP or any other application with audio for that matter. The only downside is the $50 price tag :-/

IMPORTANT: I DON'T recommend trying the demo unless you really think you want this software. I installed the demo on my laptop before I decided to purchase it for the car or not.

I CAN NOT GET THIS THING TO GO AWAY. I've even used AppZapper to remove all preference files but it still won't get rid of everything. If I zero out all the settings in Hear and turn it completely off, it's fine. The next time I restart my Mac, it takes over the audio settings and music sounds like absolute crap. I had to reinstall the demo and I have to go back in and turn it off every time I restart the machine.

I'm going to try and contact their customer support to see if there's a way to resolve this, but I just wanted anyone who is interested to be warned in advance that this may be your fate as well.

I'll post again if I get anywhere with this.

Nevermind. I tried uninstalling using the built in menu item and it seems like it finally worked. I think it may have had something to do with the fact that I was running it from the .dmg file for a few days before moving it to the Applications folder.
