Hello all,

I'm putting a 1.5 GHz Core Solo in my car and I wanted to make sure that I get everything I need. It'd be awesome if you guys could link to the actual pieces and such in the store.

Power Supply - Carnetix P1900 is what I hear, but then I heard the Mac Pac cable is *NOT* Intel compatible without soldering.

Audio- I am going to be hooking it up to my speakers, subs and amp and want good quality audio; I'm by no means an audiophile, I just want a nice sound. As well, is there software that will allow my Mac Mini to control my subwoofers level?

Radio - I still want to access my radio if at all possible, so is there some sort of converter so that my Mac Mini can tap into my radio? As well, what piece of software would allow me to control it?

ANY help would be appreciated.

You hear wrong. P1900 is fully compatible with Intel mini. Soldering was only necessary in the old version and even then, it was in the P1900 itself, not on the cable.


Try the built-in headphone output first. If you are not happy with the result, start looking for an external USB sounda dapter (such as Edirol UA1).


Probably not, this is typically set on the amplifier. A system-wide equalizer might be available.


I am not sure what you want. If you connect the audio ouptut to the AUX input of your car radio, you can use the radio's controls to switch the source back to tuner or CD. If you want to control this from the software, you will need to hack the butons or the remote controller for your radio and then use for example a Phidgets I/O board to simulate the buttons.

Sorry, for the radio I meant for FM/AM radio. I want to be able to control the stations I listen to via my Mac Mini. Well, I guess I will order the P1900 and Mac Pac!

Not likely. The Griffin RadioShark is an AM/FM receiver controllable by the Mini. Controlling your car radio from the Mini would be difficult. Not impossible, but difficult.
