Do you have experience with this device?

I looked at the product description and it says it "Converts analog L/R signals to digital S/PDIF or TOSLink". Unless I'm thinking of it backwards, that is the wrong direction...

Hmm... about that device...
People think that because the Mini is said to have optical out that means you can use a toslink cable. In actuality, the connection is line-out, which means it's the same 3/8 mini headphone connection that runs similar to iPods/iPhones/PC's. The GefenTV is for those units which ran out of, or do not have any, analog sound connections that wish to utilize the TOSlink connection...

That being said, I'm not sure of your hackintosh, but in your instance, you may want to try the PowerMate from Griffin, or something of that nature.

The mini, if budget-able (hey, they upgraded recently!), could still be on your horizon...

argh, big problem, I can't find any sort of driver for my touch screen.

It is a lilliput 619GL - 70NP/C/T
