This is the site I went to for the LCD Combo. Thing is, this sells the 7" screen. Just follow the pull down menu.

This is the combo you probably might end up with should you go this route.

If you use the dash that you bought from Crutchfield, be prepared to do some body work on it; it just might fit the 8" screen...
Bodywork in this instance would be expanding the inside dimensions to fit an 8" screen; with a viewing size of 6 7/8 x 4 1/8; and an exterior body size of 8.17"x5.71"x1.23".

Thanks. I decided to go with the 7" as I didn't think the extra inch would be THAT big of a deal in the long run. I'm probably going to get a transflective, optically bonded screen from mo-co-so.com

I can't find it the post!!! However, I found this one and it is similar.

Pictures of the partial deconstruction to come. I just had a quasi hard-drive failure with all of my pictures on it, so I'm doing a backup now!

Starting the install

Well folks.... it's been a while. I got a lil sick and then things piled up after that, but a buddy of mine is coming over this weekend to help me run wires!

I got a brand new Mac Mini, and I'm waiting on carnetix to ship out the new Macpac. Until then I guess I'll be running it through the cigarette lighter.

Thought I'd post this

Power Diagram:

I created this power diagram to make sure I was installing the right sized wires and fuses in the system. Diagram care of gliffy.com. All of the equipment was assumed to be 20% inefficient in case you are wondering how I came up with the amp requirements.

So the EBY is your AMP ? Looks like the setup is ok But it's a little simplified. You'll have a lot more wiring

Did you buy the MacPac for the carnetix1900? If not I recomend you do, its a plug and play wiring for our Mac and you still have a second Output and you can choose from 5+ or 12+. Be sure to read the Carnetix 1900 Manual before doing any test with your Carnetix !!

The EBY is the Lilliput EBY-701.

The amp is not in this configuration. Additionally the diagram needs a ground connection, but I didn't see a good way to do that in gliffy.

If you have any install advice, let me know VMT!

^^Here are my Install advice with the CNX1900 and MacMini

What I'm using:
- MacMini (intel)
- CNX1900 latest firmware and last board version
- MacPac Wire for Mini (mp3car.com store)
- Xenarc 700TSV

Right now I'm still in the testing mode but everything works perfectly.

Here's how I tested my install...

Battery12v 4G cable ---> Both 12v Carnetix Input
Car Frame ---> Both GND Carnetix Input
IGNITION Wire take power from the 12v coming from the battery --> 2 state switch --> Yellow cable Input Ignition

Here's a good Idea coming from CNX

My Carnetix is setup for 12v (J2) and J5 which control the secondary output, is set to 12v for now...as I want to power my Xenarc.

Primary output:
MacPac Output ---> MacMini power port
---> PowerButton Y cable

Secondary output (12v):
Brown = Positive
Black = Negative
So those two wires will go to my screen when I receive the prewired plug for my TSV. Not sure if there's one for the lilluput though...you'll have to check.

**MAKE SURE TO RTFM BEFORE PLUGGING ANYTHING, espacially if your going to wire your liliput with the CNX1900** If you don't set the jumpers right, you will fry your CNX (clearly mentioned in the manual)

HOPE THIS HELPS!

First....Heck ya that helps!

We have very similar setups. I'm still waiting for CNX to make up a batch of the new Macpacs for the brand new Mac Mini.

I'll be heading out to Fry's Electronics in hopes of picking up one of those cables for the screen.

I have RTFM and will do so again to confirm my jumper setup

Thanks
