Most (almost all) ICONS are animated

hotkeys bring up desktop features ( without background ) for when I'm using CentraFuse ( doesn't minimize )..

if you really want to see how Mac OS X looks like , but don't want to buy a mac , you could try PEARPC , which is an powerpc emulator for x86.
You'll need the original macos installation cd's , a lot of time , and a very fast computer.

You could also head out to your almost local Apple store and play around with the displays.

A VERY FAST computer being the key point here. PearPC is a good way to get a "glimpse" of OS X potential, but without actually running on the PowerPC hardware you truly arent getting the best idea. With PearPC the key thing is RAM too. Plus, like z.1 said, you need the original Mac OS X installation CD's or at least a "copy of the *.iso images"

If you really wanted to test OS X out, just go spend an hour or so at the local Apple retail store or at a CompUSA or somewhere that sells Macs. Play around with it and see what it can do. I just added a mac mini to my G4 Powerbook and I like the new compact size. Mac's really are a great idea and good environment. Any OS built on BSD is going to be a rock-solid OS.

Here's a stupud question. To run OS X you need special Mac hardware, it won't run on a PC like linux would?

I like Os 9 its simple and it works - OSX tries the same fisher price
crap that Windows XP does - I know its a mac, and there trying to
make it simple - I just dont like it - plus I can find more software
on the net for OS9 than OSX - I try to use freeware

Dont get me wrong I love mac hardware just not OSX,
I want to use KDE in osx - I herd there working on it,
some day when they get it working good maybe, but I think
I will keep my os9.22 for now

Here is my XP desktop - no bells, no thrills, just like I like,
All the fancy stuff is turned off except the background image,
it took a long time before I switched the background image on
I had for years just the greenish blue background default
to windows

you need a mac - its like linux - but compiled
for the hardware used in macs

You would need a mac with PCI slots and a g3 cpu at 350mhz or more
and at least 256mb mem plus a good 3d card - on top of that
some cpu upgrade cards may not like OSX - I have a Blue and
White G3 350mhz and had to upgrade to 512mb mem to get
a fast usable system, OSX is a real resource hog

no need to even use any of the menus. When it starts up, it starts Centrafuse, and all apps that I normally use are started in the background. I have a button thats always "on-top" to switch between the apps.
That main screen is only when parked and in need of the full desktop..
a few function keys gets rid of most of the clutter

Remember its XP Pro, so all that stuff is just overlays etc...

I'm primarily a PC guy but I tinker with some "alternative" systems. I bought a Blue & White G3 last year off ebay, for fun. I finally got OS X installed. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why everytime I installed (or tried) OS X the screen was black & white and looked like 8 bit color. The machine came with the standard ATI Rage128 and updating the drivers finally fixed it.

It's a 300 (over-clocked to 350) with 320MB RAM. It runs OS X (10.3) decently. I don't have much to compare it to though since this is the only machine I've ever used OS X on. I have to admit it is beautiful and a seem to be an efficient OS. I have some of my windows machines setup to emulate the look of OS X. It REALLY bogs down the systems though. I don't like Apple so much as a computer company (compared to the PC market) but I wouldn't mind having OS X on my x86 machines!
