Yes, yes he would. LOL.

Just because a technology may be considered trailing edge doesn't mean its no good. Apple builds for reliability, not the high tech factor. Hell, I still keep around my old PII 450mhz cause they are reliable to do certain tasks with Linux/Unix.

At least at the end of his article he realizes its about the software that keeps Mac fans happy. I personally think its the combination of hw/sw in one package. Its the only OS I know that improved my old 1Ghz powerbook's performance, not made it worse. I've done linux and debian installs on it previously, but you just cannot walk away saying their OS sucks....only that they don't have the programs and hardware available like PCs.

I'll let this thread stay open as long as the forum rules are followed. No mac vs pc bashing and keep opinions civilized and factual.

I agree with a bit of the article, but he doesn't back up the whole "G5 CPU isn't too great" argument all that well. I understand he doesn't want to go into too much detail, but the G5 proc is pretty damn good. And no I am not a fanboy of Apple. I have never owned an apple. I do, however, work for ibm.. so I may unconciously be a little biased.

G5 WAS perdy good when it came out, but like all telescoping exponential technologies, it gets surpassed quick. And IBM hasnt, didnt, deliver anything to keep up with the rest of the 98% market.

I like this article, it says wut MAY happen, and what it really means to all users...
