I don't know why you would be flamed. What would you do to receive AM and FM?

AM | FM SUCKS! IMO, when you have 500 Music Videos and about 3000 MP3's who needs AM : FM!! Quite honestly Im with :sdashiki: on this.... In truly pointless to have an extra HU... Again everyone is entitled to what they want but you will find barely no time to listen to it...

Since my first car in 1997 in high school, I havent listened to the radio. I used to at home when I was a kid (yeah listening to "Come baby come baby baby come come - K7")
Why would I want to hear the same POP song over and over? Keep a list on any radio station over the course of the work day and mark off how many times you hear the same song....Gwen Stefani 4 times an hour...etc ICKY!
Anyway there are FM/AM recievers for the computer... just dont ask ME the names cuz Like i said, i dont give a **** about them.
Listening to AM, now thats a fun time!

There are am/fm tuners for mac, as well as XM.
Yeah, there isn't anything a HU can do that a carputer can't, except amplify for you. So what? That doesn't mean there are no advantages or benefits to using one. It is up to each of us how we set our cartainment experience up; as long as it is functional (does what we want) there is nothing wrong with it.
My one simple reason for keeping my HU is that I want to be able to take the mac mini out and use it as a desktop comp wherever I go, and still have music in the car if I decide to leave the mini somewhere while Im driving.

Honestly, I use many forums and this arguing happens here lot more than other forums... Like we have one common interest but at the same time we can't get along... The other time I posted about when we will have a frontend.. and all I had was everyone jumping at me because I was whining etc... Seems more like we are against each other rather than working together...

I don't know about other forums, but some people on here really seem like they're not here to help people at all. I guess that's why I got so in-your-face there... I am honestly fed up with those who can't even take the time to accurately read a post before they post something not only unhelpful but offensive and/or stupid.

As Qbancash said, we are here to work together. We can all share our opinions, but you also need to be RESPECTFULL of each others. That doesn't mean saying other people's opinions are ****, **** you, etc. Share your knowledge, and your experiences with other methods. Keep a freakin open mind. :-P
Both Shizzle and sdashiki were out of line and their offending posts have been deleted in this thread.
Both of you think about your actions here, especially in front of a new user.

EDIT: If you have a problem, then PM me. don't post it here please. thanks. I wish to keep this thread on topic to help this user out.

it is definetly not a "vaporware". the guy that own the website and made the technology is my roomate cousin. i saw it while it was still a prototype back in 2002 in his old honda civic, it could control the a/c and all electronics from his pda. that dude used to work for IBM as a programmer but quit in order to pursue his project. i will have my roomate give me his phone number so i can tell the dude to bring himself in this forum so all of you can ask him questions. you can ask me some questions but i won't be able to answer with a good accuracy since i've only saw the prototype.

yes, i think it would be good to get the developer in here to answer questions, since currently, only TatraApp is a solid app for OS X in the car....it always good to have options.

I don't have the hardware to test it. Or a car at this point in time.

I actually abandoned the mac in favor of pc... so I was kinda hoping you would tell me it was poo. Not really, I was genuinely curious.
It seems there has been a lot of progress for mac carputer enthusiasts to enjoy, and gps is due this fall, no? I hope you are still enthusiastic!
I am starting to regret not waiting it out, especially since bluetooth is so seamless with a mac! I haven't been able to make it work for more than two seconds on my pc!
