Yes, that is a good 3+ one way drive for me. It would cost me almost as much in gas (a tank down, a tank back) as to buy the used laptop from them for the round trip (and I drive a Honda Civic!)

my tank gets 330 miles on a 11.4 gallon tank at an average of 70mph :-) I know that cause I use to do 315 mile trips (not round, but one way from MD to NY) when one of my ex's and I had a long distance relationship. I always had enough to fill up the tank once nearby.

No point guys. Dont even plan the trip. The county has changed its plan and the auction date. The auction is now on the 16th, same place same time. However, only residents of Henrico county can buy one of those. Its supposed to be a tax payer should get the stuff thingy. And guess what - I live in Henrico county However, I believe it will be quite a feat if I manage to get my hands on one - I expect a riot ...

**** henrico...

If selling to everyone they would of attracted ppl driving a decent distance...which means they'd prolly stay intown to get some food/spend money on something else and that = more tax $$$ for them...

How many people would they atract? many people obviousy thought it was ridiculous for the city to be selling ibooks at $50 a pop.... so these voters were ****ed off, so they think "hmmm, we need to do something so they arent so ****ed" and so they make it a "Our Voters Exclusive" or "only for taxpayers"

This is stupid, it even said, "County officials said they will be meeting to review the situation to see what could be done differently in the future." what if they just sold the ibooks for more than $50, I bet a $300 i book would not create a stampede

yeah they are ****in clouns... 50bucks, the state selling??? its stupid seriously....the only thing that saves it from being so stupid is that they sold them only to henrico county residents, that way they kind of get the benefit of buying a cheap laptop (even though they risked getting hurt in the process) because their money was used to buy em...

ah dunno, its stupid anyways to sell something that could be sold for 300 or even more for 50... its bad business no matter if it is the state or anything...
