iBook deal?

Question for you the Apple-addicts out there... I know *nothing* about iBooks and was wondering of someone could enlighten me on what kind of deal this is:

"Used Apple iBook laptop computers will be on sale for $50 each, with a one-per-person limit... One thousand laptops will be sold at the school warehouse on a first come first serve basis. Only cash or checks will be accepted. The white, Power PC 750s with 12-inch screens have 320 megabytes of memory and are installed with the AppleWorks Operating System."

Thanks,

- Z

Seriously, you should buy as many as you can and sell them. That deal is a steal. Just take a second and read this http://appleturns.com/scene/?id=5263 p.s you need to scroll down to the bottom article.

That is really, really messed up. Good luck!

They are only ibooks (smaller then a powerbook, no PC card slot), but still worth $50 each.

If you do score any, remember to respect MP3car.com rules and post in the For sale forum. Please do not advertise them for sale in this forum.

Thanks!

All, Thanks for the info. I think I am going to pick one up just to play with.

FYI, for anyone in the central VA area these units are being sold by Henrico County Public Schools on Aug 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school warehouse at 361 Dabs House Road beside the Eastern Government Center. For more information contact Mychael Dickerson, director of media relations and safety for Henrico County Public Schools, at mddickerson@henrico.k12.va.us or 804-652-3724.

As for the selling and offers of love and mad skillz... thanks, but uhh... I'm gonna have to pass since they are limiting it to one per person.
