Hey Noodles. I just downloaded the rev file. I'll take a look at it.

I hadn't been around for a while so didn't realize you had put a link there.

Thanks.

Is the version on the links the latest?

W.

Here's the latest rev file. I'm surprised other RR developers exist.
http://www.andrewle.com/iGnition/iGnition6.rev

The scripting isn't neat by any means, which I plan on fixing later. But so far, the basic audio playing functions are all working for me. I'm trying to make the album browser so that it displays a grid of album cover art that you can select. I think CcarProject had something similar to that.

woo... spoke too soon. When I added the resume function and combined the play and pause buttons, I messed something up. So if you stop the player using the stop button, it won't come on again. Guess I'll clean up now.

New and improved Anti-Glare* Skin (patent pending).
I'm going back to using up and down buttons for the volume eventually. I hate the way the slider looks (though I could skin it)... but I don't think a slider would work that great on a touchscreen. Yeah so go download the less buggy version of this sucker... and check out the video screenshot with Christopher Walken. Man, it's getting late.

Hit the Load/Eject button and you can select a folder/album. It's temporary until I get the browser support.

I'd also like to mention that a lot of things are clickable... I think someone before asked "why don't you have a next and previous track button?" Well if you click a title on the playlist, it will play that song. Also there's no scrollbars for the playlist because I think you can click and drag to get to the bottom songs. I have no TS yet to test that, but that's the plan. You can click the elapsed time to change it to remaining time if you like that format. All the buttons that are there should work. THe album cover and the "source mp3" are the only things that aren't clickable as of now.

I haven't worked out all the bugs, so I'm not releasing it until later in the week. For example the song in the Audio Player will automatically resume when you switch between Video and Audio (even if there wasn't a song playing in the first place). Also I'm thinking about redo-ing the video controls so it's more like Front Row or Media Central (where the buttons are transparent and hover over a playing movie).

I'm not sure exactly how I want to transition between different functions. I had ideas for a Main Menu which contains Audio, Video, GPS, etc. But who really stays on that menu while they're driving? Wouldn't it be much quicker and safer to go straight from Audio to GPS? I think so. But I digress.

I've got some schoolwork to do before Wednesday. School first. Design second. And then the coding.

I'll be ordering a touchscreen within the next couple weeks... and plan on getting a Mac Mini from a buddy of mine. And it looks like I'll be eating ramen noodles for the rest of the year.

Update:
My Lilliput came in the mail the other day. And my brother has joined in the coding efforts while I concentrate more on the design. He is MUCH more experienced than I.

Not yet. I'm slacking in the skin department, but when I'm done... a beta will be released. I'm expecting an official release by this summer (1-2 months).
