Sorry but for those l33t hax0rz out there who want to DL and run OSX on their windows machine are only proving they are using the wrong OS.

Pointless and stupid other than for the one guy to do it, say it can be done and write an article. Why the hell would anyone use this?

I disagree... if I were into video editing and others, and this ran pretty smoothly (as the article seems to suggest) I'd much prefer this than buying expensive Apple hardware....

there really are uses for Mac OS X that go further than simply eyecandy and fashion statements...

If there were a decent frontend+gps software, and this loaded up quickly it would be my choice over winxp... as would a linux frontend be my first choice if there were a suitable frontend...

I dont think an emulated OS can run digital video very well.

from what I understood it isnt emulated, it is the apple version that runs on Intel chips without the Apple-hardware restriction.... hence the comment from the guy that hacked it saying that surprisingly it runs quicker on intel than on apple hardware

Oh, my dumass.

Either way. I still like my G5 chipset, slick case and option for 8GB of RAM.

Ahem, $7,000 Porsche. Might want to come down off your pedestal.

Anyway, I've been running OSX on my x86 for a few days now. Absolutely beatiful, and much more stable than Windows...even the cracked, not-for-everyday-intels version!

Thats is indeed the attraction.

OSX on Mac hardware - limited Applications. Eye Candy, Fashion statement (good term Roy)
OSX on Intel Hardware - More apps than a Mac plus ability to use Mac only apps. not to mention speed.

My interest is peaked, and upon further investigation it seems that there are ZERO copies out there. Seems you have to become a developer and recieve a " Kit " for testing purposes.
Give it time and I'm sure that this will be available and some 13 yr old hacker will undo some of the unwelcome features.

Maybe the Mac vs. PC thing will finally be put to rest.

Screenshots when I get home...

All apps that are compiled for x86 work perfect. SSE3 instruction sets are required to be able to run native PPC applications through Rosetta, Apple's PPC "emulation" software.

Yeh I got it working too.... I own an athlon64 with a winchester core so I only got sse2 and I am very ****ed off about that. But looks like it might not be too long till someone cracks rosetta to work with sse2.

http://www.concretesurf.co.nz/osx86/...61de45dffc2b8b

I have no reason to run os-x except for the reason that I can, so I guess I'm in it for the rice/fashion statement factor, how sad.

And don It is illegal to obtain them from torrent sites by searching under the following keywords: "VMWare files for patched Mac OS X Tiger Intel"

Use OSX cuz it rox.

Dump Winbloze cuz it dont.

Keep your fancy shmancy hardware.

Ill take a PC ATI card anyday, they are like 50% the price of the mac counterparts.
