Intel Mac FTDI Serial->USB drivers in beta

FYI,
I remember FTDI came up in a thread or two (I believe about CAN?). Since I actually use (and I use that term loosely since the units haven't been touched in 6+ months) their chipset, I dropped them a note yesterday inquiring about Intel Mac support.
Their response was quick and surprising as they attached a beta version of the driver for me (guess I need a new Mac to test it out ). I don't know their policy, so i'm not going to attach it, but if anyone does have a Intel Mac (am I the only one that keeps think of them as "I" Macs?) and is using something with the FTDI chipset just drop them a note.

I also sent a note to IOGear as I use their Serial -> USB dongle, but haven't heard from them yet. I will pass on that info too when/if I hear back.

I got a reponse (kinda surprised actually, don't know why though). They are "working" on it, but offer no more information at this time.

Think you can toss up that beta driver? I've got a Belkin f5u109 that I'm trying to use and I'm pulling my hair out.

I don't know what their policy is about that, so no. Just go to their website and send them a note that says you heard they have a beta driver and you'ld like to try it out.

I have no idea what chip Belkin uses, so you would probably be wasting your time. I would suggest that you contact Belkin to get their status for a driver (or *maybe* (don't hold your breath) they'll tell you what chipset they use so you know where to go look for a driver).

Normally I tend to avoid 'thread necromancy' but since this thread is the first google hit for 'ftdi intel mac' I figured I'd note that the OSX Intel VCP drivers are now officially posted at http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
