No. I said that if it's NOT there it won't start.

Question about MacPac and G4 Mini

I have a V2.0 P1900 that is getting installed with my G4 Mac Mini. I want to buy a MacPac cable, but I have a question first. On the carnetix site, it says the following:

"(Note: Users of the CNX-P1900 V2.0 regulator and Intel-based mini will need to add a "resistor mod" to their P1900. Please check HERE for the P1900 V2.0 resistor mod)."

My question is, will I need to add the resistor if I buy the MacPac cable (remember, P1900 V2.0 & G4 Mini)? I'm probably misinterpreting the wording...does it mean that if you have both an Intel Mini AND and V2.0 P1900, you'll need to do this, or does it mean that anyone with a V2.0 P1900, regardless of Intel or PPC, will have to do this?

Thanks!

The resistor is just for us Intel users. You should be able to just plug everything up.

I've been searching and I'm trying to find the significance of installing the y-cable with the macpac power cable kit. So my question is, what is the consequence of not installing the y-cable(grn/blk) into your mac mini?

mac mini won't be able to turn on/off as you turn on/off your car. You'd have to push the button on mac every time. If your mac is in the passenger compartment this should be fine, but if it's in a trunk or somewhere where it's not easiliy accessable I would assume you'd want to do the y-cable trick, so that the mac will turn on/off with your car.
