Griffin PowerMate Causing Mac Mini to crash!

Hi there I found no one has the same problem as I do:

My Griffin PowerMate is installed on my Mac Mini Core Solo. Since I installed it I have a (I think it is called) kernel panic at shutdown. Have any of you had this issue?

Thanx for the feedback...

Unhappy

Hi!
Seems no one has the same problem as I have. So I will give you an update on the situation:

I installed the UB 1.6.4 version of the Griffin PowerMate software. That went OK and then I plugged the PowerMate in, that went OK too and the knob works. But when I shutdown it panics! so I tried some variations first I just unplugged the PowerMate and then shutdown... and it worked fine no panics

Then I decided to go to my Apple reseller and ask him to test it, he actually just sat me down in front of another Mac Mini Core Solo 1.5GHz and said I could do what I wanted! I thought that was pretty good stangely the PowerMate worked on the shop's Mac Mini. So I have come to the conclusion the the PowerMate is incompatible with my configuration.

Now I have 2 external devices plugged into the USB ports: 1 is the touch screen, the other is the griffin RadioShark. I suspect very strongly that the UB version of the Touch Screen from www.newision.com is conflicting with the UB version of the PowerMate software/driver.

If anyone has a Mac Mini Core Solo 1.5GHz coupled with a Touch screen and a PowerMate and the setup works sucessfully can he/she tell me as I would be very interested to find a solution to my problem.

Thanx all

maybe you sould try pluggin it into a powered hub? Or for a more drastic approch yo could reinstall everything one at a time to find the issue... I think i heard somwhere that the powermate was not completely compatible with intel macs (although I could very well be wrong). email griffin and the touchscreen folks with your problem and see if they can help.

I have a G4 Mac-Mini, Xenarc Touch screen and many USB accessories going through two USB Hub and I did had some problems. There are only two USB ports on G4 Mini so I had a hub in each port. I was told to plug the touch screen directly into the Mini and the rest through the hub and my problem was solved.

Not sure about the Intel Mini but my best guest would do like Sharkbite86 suggest car start by writing to Grffin to see if they have received report of problem with Intel Mini.

Good luck.

It does not work with intel mini;s. Griffin knows this, I verfied this, and took the power mate back to the store. I would recommend you do the same.

sure it does!

I've got a griffin powermate i purchased about a month ago or so and it works famously on my intel mini. I've got the Core Duo 1.6Ghz. I'll qualify that by saying that I did download the latest drivers from their website and am using no software or drivers other than what I needed for Front Row.

I am affraid that it does not work with the core solo but it does fine with the duo, I tested it at the shop, but had to hand it back as we couldn't get it to work ...
