Running the app on a intel was extremly slow, hopefully that is rosetta's fault.
And if your not living in santa fe the demo was useless.
Can only hope they make an SDK for it because the interface was not car friendly.
btw Windows Vista Build 5342 works great on the mini. even faster then osx.

i played around with this a bit. was not impressed at all. yeah im on a macbook so there it is running in rosetta but the speed wasnt really the problem.
the demo is useless. with only a map of new mexico
without some form of sdk it is not at all touch screen friendly.
What is needed is for these guys to take a lesson from this community on what gps software for a computer should be. (imo)

I too was not impressed at all. There is no option for address to address directions, or I just couldnt find it. In the demo version you are only given new mexico which is all well and good if you live there. but what about the rest of us.

Well, if nothing else comes out of it, I've extracted their icon, and it's pretty nice for a GPS icon.

It looks like it works the same as MacGPS Pro Only this uses Teleatlas maps instead of scanned maps. Its just another desktop program to manage your GPS device and display your position. It is no navigation program. I guess we have to wait for Garmin to release their nRoute for Mac

Speaking of nRoute.... does anyone know where I can find a product desription of this program on Garmin's web-site?? It is available for Windows right now and is coming to OSX correct? I've looked all over their web-site to find the page that describes the Windows version but can't find it... I'd like to see it cause I'm sure it'll have similar features when it comes out for Mac.
Also, anyone have any experience on running one of the popular Windows GPS Navigation programs using Parallels on an Intel Mac? Basically what I'm wondering about is if running iGuidance (or any other "Windows only" GPS software) in Parallels but everything (Front Row, radioSHARK, kisMAC, etc.) in OS X at the same time is a good solution.
I'm sure it works... but is it user-friendly? Maybe using a desktop switcher like Desktop Manager or Virtue Desktops manager applications... anyone try anything like this on their system? How's it work out while driving?

There is not much info available because it is not sold seperately. Some info can be found on their website. Go to Support>Updates&downloads>Mapping programs>nroute>choose your language>press download and agree terms. There you can read the specs

Okay, no need to be too harsh here. For sure, this product isn't ready for in car use. You can't change the map settings or the displays, no turn by turn, no 3D view, no voice interaction.
However, I give props to them for actually coding a GPS program for the Mac. I'm hoping that they will steadily improve it. Until it gets a few more features that make is usable in the car, though (Applescript at least?), I'm not willing to part with $150 bucks.
I'd do it on the PC side because of all the stuff you can do to alter and customize it through the SDK. This product isn't up to that level, yet.

Nice Software, Crap Service
Well, having been looking for a GPS carputer solution that has maps for Hong Kong, I jumped at this. It was hard enough finding a GPS solution for the PC but I had pretty much given up on this.
Now I have a $99.00-USD piece of software and no maps. Kagi the all powerful encrypted advanced money taking software allowed me to buy the licence for the demo version from within the program itself (which is now installed on my computer) but then refused to accept payment through routebuddy's online store to purchase the Hong Kong maps.
Routebuddy's online support has no idea how the original transaction was approved as my Fastmail.fm account ($400-USD worth) is listed as anonymous and untraceable. Untraceable in as much as it was bought with the same credit card that Kagi accepted payment for the Routebuddy software on, not to mention Fastmail has my address, credit card and bank info, telephone number.
Their solution? Just get another e-mail !!! What you mean an anonymous one that you register in the name of Bill Gates on www.getafreeemail.com or I now have to PAY another $15-$25 to get e-mail with an approved company so that I can get my maps.
The software looks nice but the company is true Mickey Mouse calibre. If you live in the States by all means give it a go but if you live overseas give this a VERY VERY wide berth.

It does say in there somewhere that free upgrades will be soon available for universal binary and routing. The speed on the demo is pretty decent on my old 1GHz g4, so it should be very nice on the intel machines once UB is out. I'm considering buying a copy as it is now just to encourage these guys to keep developing.
