I need help - Newbie questions....

Hey guys,

I am very new to this but I have some questions.

I recently aquired a 2006 Ford Fusion SE, also for some time I have been thinking of putting a mac mini in my car. My old car was destroyed in an accident so now I have a new one and I really want to do this.

So now I want to put in an intel mac mini in my car and I have not even the slightes idea on how to start.

I need to know what will I need to make this happen, which parts other then the mac.

I was also curious if anyone worked on a fusion yet and what luck they had with it.

All your help is appriciated, I really want to start this since there is not a place in my twon that will do it for me.

Also if anyone knows of a place in:

Grand Rapids Michigan
Detroit Michigan
Chicago Illinois

That actually would put the mac in there for me I would appriciate it.
My last resort is to do this myself, I would much rather pay someone to do this so that I don't screw up....

Go to the FAQ Emporium. There is a thread there on how to install a Mac Mini. Also, go to the Show Off Your Projects thread and search on Fusion.

I was going to have someone do it for me, but it was so much for to do it myself. I know if i had paid someone to do it then i couldnt have gotten the exact look that I wanted. I would suggest even if you are scared to go for it and do it yourself.

the beauty of this forum is that you can stop whenever you're unsure, and given some photos and a little time, these people can help you every step of the way. We've all been there or are getting there. If you are at square one, i'd say the first step is to decide what you want from your carPC and write that down... then you can make a shopping list. After that... the fun begins!

with the P1900 you can. Otherwise most TS monitors for cars have an auto-on feature so you can just wire it up to ACC 12v. Just make sure the fuse is properly rated so you don't wind up with a car full of touchscreen goo.
