I'm not sure if this is old news (i searched the forums a little bit), but TUAW is reporting that the Griffin FireWave 5.1 Dolby Surround external sound device is now shipping. Last I heard, they were only accepting pre-orders. If this is old or outdated, by all means remove the thread, thanks!

I haven't been to the Firewave site in awhile (and last time it was still saying pre-order) and they have updated it. It finally confirms that it indeed works on the Intel Macs (something someone responding to web questions couldn't answer 3 months ago ).

Damn, I need to replace my Lilli though
