new computer
I just got a new intel mac, so far I love it. I installed bootcamp and then windows. Does anyone know how to make OSX default OS? Right now it just boots up into windows unless the option key is pressed...

Not familiar w/ bootcamp, but in usual dual boot windows boxes, you go to Control Panel-->System-->Advanced tab-->Starup and Recovery and modify the "Default Operating System"

Yeah, I have already tried that but OSX isn't even listed in the drop list.

i don't have mine in front of me to verify, but in control panel (in windows) there should be an icon for startup disk. click that and select OS X
if not, you can do it by holding down Option to get into OS X. go to system preferences, and i know there is a Startup Disk option in there. click OS X and you should be good to go

I am pretty sure you have to make the change for the startup disk in OS X.
MAC OS:
you go into system preferences-->startup disk and then choose Mac OS X.
When you restart it should automaticaly go into the MAC OS.

The way I run it I leave the startup disk thing alone. Have osx the default. When I want to boot windoze I reboot and hold the option key down. Select windows and run it that way. When I'm done I just tell windows to reboot, it will boot osx after a restart.

I couldn't get my gps to work with parallels. Though I just downloaded the new vmware beta last night. Haven't had a chance to play with it yet though.

barry, let usk now how you like vmware fusion. after purchasing parallels, i'm rather partial to it, especially on my main macbook pro, but would definitely like to hear your thoughts on vmware's offering.

Well vmware works really cool. The usb gps doesn't work with this either though. It shows as a usb device but I can't select it to share.
