Dock anyone?

I got the prototypes of our dock today. It will be available for both PPC and Intel mini, in either plain metal or durable matt black/gray finish. And it does fit a standard 1 DIN slot.

Tomorrow I have to play with the connectors a little bit and then it goes straight to our V480.

It will be available in 2-3 weeks and should cost Euro 99 for plain metal version and Euro 119 for black one.

The empty bottom was necessary, because the mini is exactly as high as the ISO slot, so we could not put any extra metal there. Plus it is better for cooling. The dock should hold the mini fine. We may make some modifications on the rear side, but they should not be too extensive.

The price is including shipping within Europe, but we will figure something out for the US as well. It will also include all connectors (except for power).

Jirka

It looks as you have the same kind of thinking as Apple does

Doesn't always look right but in the end everything staples up to make something brilliant

I dare to use your own words

I quote Jirka here " What do you have in reserve ?"

Many thanks

Can you post a photo of the dock installed, holding a Mac Mini in the car? Do you foresee it as a permanent install or as a means to quickly remove the Mini to hide it elsewhere?

I will try during the weekend, as soon as we are done with the V480 installation which we have started today (the computer goes to the glovebox, together with head unit, later to be replaced by HQCT + amplifiers).

The primary purpose of the dock is to allow you to use one computer in the car and at home or (and this is more important to me personally) to move it between several cars. Of course it can also be used purely as a theft protection measure.

I WANT ONE IN BLACK.....!

The only thing that concerns me at the moment is that if for any reason the unit powers off, how do you get to the power button.....

Yes, we have the dock in two different versions - for PPC and Intel.

how will you go about securing the power connector to the dock if not including one built in?
