the mac for the job

I was looking at getting a ibook G4, G3 for my Ford Probe. I want something that would be able to do GPS, Wardiving(which is easy), Play dvds, play music, and some other cool things. My question is....what's the lowest cpu speed I can use to get what I want?

PowerPC will be the biggest issue here since most new software and most OpenSource stuff is written for Intel only. I'd suggest you look around for some mac mini's or such. you can have old single core ones for under $500 on Ebay and what not.

The GPS is the kicker. I currently use a 400MHZ G4 in my house and it works fine for everything you require besides GPS. Since at this time there are no accepted all in one GPS solutions for mac I would have to assume that when one arrives it will be designed for intel and faster processors. However i'm not 100% about that. If it is universal then it will probably run fine but since we're predicting the future here I would recomend an intel mac.

If GPS is a requirement, get the Intel Mac.
