speech recogintion for mac wont work for me

if anyone knows how to get this working right let me know please i have looked on just about every mac page concerning this and i have done everything each site that tries to help with it,only to fail, i have set it right as far as i know shows the green bars moving on the speech icon if i do commands by pressing a button before each command or saying a key word but it does recoginize my command i tried all the commands even said them 3 times in row to see if it may take awhile to notice the command, ive tried different tones of voice i tried sitting the mic closer and futher i tried different volume setting on my mic and made sure ihad no background noise even and nothing i know my mic works cuz its being seen ,and in calibrating the green bars move so please anone has a soluton ill love you forever thanks

the speech recognition in OSX suck. give up now.

Apple's speech recognition is really bad in OSX it was MUCH better in Classic!

Its useless for car use

Hm, I have been playing with speech recognition (programmatically, using Cocoa framework) quite a bit and except for relatively poor performance in noisy environment, it was working fine.

Try a different program like Dragon Naturally Speaking.

No. Powermate only works with way older Macs.
