Exclamation Destinator 3 Frontend v1.1

Edit: Links are back up! Those of you who downloaded it earlier need to get it again

Hello!

A lot of bug fixes and a few new features bring us to version 1.1 of my frontend

Code:
Version History [v1.1] *New Features* -------------- -InfoBar An optional toolbar can appear at the top of the destinator window containing the following information - Current Location (Street/Road Name, City, Zip/Postal Code) - Estimated Time of Arrival (Including Total distance of route) - Estimated Time Remaining (Including total distance remaining) - Winamp Controls (Next, Prev and Pause - Example skin is included) -Winsock Control You can now create custom applications (Sample app included) to connect to the frontend and control it yourself. Information (such as Long, Lat, upcoming Maneuvers) can also be retrieved. See the Developers sub directory for more information. -Route Generation Function It's now possible to switch between Quickest and Shortest route from a button on the menu bar. (Example skin is included) -Keyboard Shortcuts Most (if not all) functions can be accessed via a customisable Key combination -Updated Zoombar The updated zoombar by weekendowel has been included in this version. This makes it easier to use on a smaller screen. The previous zoom buttons have been removed from the default skin (However the functions are still available for skinning) -Updated Voices A new voice pack (Thanks, CdRsKuLL) has been included as well as the default -Size and Position It's now possible to have the frontend remember the last size and position of the window. You can either set these as permenant values to use every time, or have the frontend save the current values every time you close. -TMC Traffic Alerts It's now possible to enable the TMC alert system within destinator. At the time of writing this is unconfirmed to be fully functional. -Setup Screen / Skin Chooser You can now configure the frontend easier using the setup screen. This screen appears the first time you run the frontend (or after an upgrade) or if you use the "/SETUP" command parameter. -New Skins 3 New skins have been included in the package. * Classic [Wide OSK] by ŠuTcH * Brushed Metal 1.0 by Ninja Monkey [OSK by ibutep] * Metal by Ibutep *Changes / Fixes* ----------------- -DestDLL Maps of 50mb or more can now be opened (Thanks, Laidback) -Manuevers Screen Fix Pressing Home would not clear the View Manuevers Screen. This has been fixed -GPS Status Fix Clicking GPS Status would open GPS Setup. It now opens the correct screen -OSK Now Optional The On-Screen Keyboard can now be turned off by default. A new button has been added to the toolbar to allow it to be activated (Example skin is included) -Winamp Mute Fixed Winamp now (optionally) mutes when a maneuver is approaching -Menus not working Fixed A bug has been fixed where the menus would occasionally cease to function -OSK Not accepting extended characters fixed The On Screen Keyboard would not transmit any characters above the 127 ASCII code range. This has now been fixed. -Height Offset Some users were experiencing an incorrect height of the mapping window. It's now possible to specify an offset value to compensate for such an event. (Default is 35) +Various other undocumented bugs have been fixed [V1.0] - Initial Release *Features* ---------- -Skinnable Interface A full frontend to control Destinator is included. An example Destinator 2 style skin has been included called "Default". All functions of the SDK can be accessed from the menus. -Winamp Control Although not included in the example skin, Basic winamp functions (Next, Prev, Pause) can be assigned to buttons on the toolbar. Winamp can also auto-mute when a maneuver is approaching. -On Screen Keyboard (OSK) An auto-displaying OSK is included for entering addresses. This is also skinnable. -Default Startup Mode It is possible to specify Destinators default startup mode (2D, 3D and Birds-Eye) -Updated DestDLL A modified SDK library (Thanks, gnumike!) has been included that allows maps of up to 50mb to be opened. -Map Cutter Maps of 50mb or more can be cut down to size using this tool

Those of you who already have 1.0 installed can upgrade using this:

Destinator 3 Frontend 1.0 to 1.1 UPGRADE [4.5MB]

The Full package can be downloaded here

Destinator 3 Full Package 1.1 [8.2MB]

Have Fun!

Could you enlighten me about the keyboard shortcuts? I have no clue were they are configurable. Also, can you make enter on the enter destination dialog box go to the next field?

uninstalled all other versions and installed a fresh copy of ver 1.1 and for some reason i get error messages when after i type a route and navigate it then try to press like settings, or recaulate, it freezes and error comes up. been trying to see what is causing it but no luck. Note* it's not happening all the time though.

anyone else having problems?

I'm also having a few random problems. Sometimes it wont open at all, other times it opens but the home or the arrow to select the views or even the entire menu wont work. Also getting that strange efect on the florence map of the route not being continuous.

Edit: The routing problem it's specific to the florence map. With my regular map it works perfectly. Sorry about that.

looks promising...

yet i have one small technical question - how can i change the map font type (since the default tahoma font makes trouble with hebrew)?.
i have seen the option in the Interface directory to change the interface font, but i never seen a similiar option for the map fonts.

i will appriciate any hel you can give.

It's great nice to see some effort into this!!... one request though:

When entering a route (address, nr, zip) with the onscreen keyboard, and you have the search field, could you make so the map is invissible, because when have entered all things the screen is very messy and not easy to read.... so basiclly make the search field bigger so it covers the whole map, instead of just looking like it's on top (which looks very odd when only 5mm of the map is vissible at the end) - so to get peace for the eye, this would be great.

otherwise great work!
