That's a bit bizzare, Mediacar can't have changed either! Maybe your sending a back/esc keystroke when d3fe is closing or something?

now does destinator use the pocket pc or palm systems, or windows? i know this frontend is for windows, but if i want to buy the maps, do i need the pocket pc maps? and if i use the pocket pc ones, i need to load new maps every once in a while to keep the trip going? will destinator use existing maps? i have delorme street atlas, and i'm assuming it won't use the map files in there, i need destinator, right? and if i need destinator, and they make one for windows, not just the pda files, where is the best place to buy it from. i want to try this frontend, it looks EXACTLY like what i'm looking for, 3d viewing, turn by turn directions, rerouting for avoiding routes, whammo.

Destinators startup defaults have been changed.

2. NMEA

5. Not expecting you too, just mediacar has not changed but the behaviour has since the new beta came out. Will doublecheck this to make sure I'm not seeing things

As said before, nice work ninja.

Think you buy the pocket PC version with the maps you want.

UK at least 1 map for whole of the country.

@ Ninja Monkey great job, works fine in sirf !

I have two questions :

First : Custom speed alert : works with one speed. Could it be possible for alert user when speed is over autorized speed + delta speed ?

ex : Delta speed 5 km/h In town alert for 50+5= 55 km/h
In autospeed alert for 130+5=135 km/h

Second :What about a new icon in menubar for direct access to "my favs" ? It could be better than only "Go Home"

@Ninja:

In germany we don´t need things linke a speed alert on highways ;-)

But what about a warning like "your speed exceeds 220 km/h, please slow down to save fuel" ?

Just some good comment.
Darn nice work, installer look prettier
I have Delorme Yellow USB GPS.
I can run D3 in SiRF mode and Routis in NMEA mode at the same time via virtual COM ports Xport2 and Compass
In D3 front end just setup the whatever COM port, SiRF, and Auto Detect for port speed.
I don't use any speed alert or camera thinggy as we do not have the DB for it yet
Thanks NM

Yup, that is what the setting in D3 FE. SiRF and COM6 (Via Xport2), and Auto Detect for speed. I am not sure if it work like that or NOT, but when I come back to the setting screen, whatever I selected before, still selected.

Nah, if SiRF fails it tries to use NMEA instead. The frontend is probably running with NMEA

Anyone else having issues embedding the latest D3 1.1.3 with Frodoplayer 1.09 Take 3? When i try to embed it, it briefly shows the song on the top, then exits D3 soon after.... any ideas? Is this not supported as of yet? And my other quick question was when NM is planning to get rid of that Beta Text on the top right corver of the map... its kinda annoying ..... great job on your coding NM! MUCH props!!

Right time for my report... one problem but I can't even say waht it is.

Right - SiRF mode - bob on.... worked fine. No noticable CPU killing this time other than when I zoom in and out the music stopped for a while a second or two. I put this down to the CPU ( being a 800hz ) because I have a 16mb vid card installed for just such a reason... more memory might help. I sorted of prooved this by going in to the 2D mode which did not suffer the same problem... as much.

Apart from that after importing my cameras ( as discussed in the bug thred ) most of them disapeared - defo the local ones - as a consiquence they where no longer been shown.

How ever... as I was passing one point where there was a camera the machine sort of stopped - it was not hung as the music every few seconds came back on... in other words the CPU was being hammered I think... again no error messages but I ended up reseting it. I had set the view to the default of birds eye but at the time I was in 2D mode...

Any way - ended up setting D2 again with the new map... the strange thing was that the GPS had now defaulted back to the NMEA mode...

Hope thats helpfull NM...

Terran

PS - I'm all over in the next month or so ... this means if you do get a fix out soon I may be able to test it over a few thousand miles for you.
