Spoken street names?

This is something I miss from the days of using Mappoint with AGPS, it would say the street name I'm supposed to turn on. Ever since I made the move to Routis and Destinator, I have had to look at the screen to know what street to turn onto. I'm using the AT&T Natural Voices speech engine so it doesn't sound so robotic.

Use the SAPI plugin, you can configure it to do exactly that

is there a way to figure out how to pause the music long enough until the thing stops talking automatically? say if it starts saying a really long name...

Change this line in settings.ini to the number of seconds you want it to mute :

MuteTime=3

Or if you use frodoplayer:

FrodoPauseTime=3

Or you can change it from the setup --> audio mute tab

yes, however, say you have something that goes turn right onto alksjdfoiawjerojialk;jsfdljlsakjasdf rd... even with the longer delay... it may still overlap the music... OR.. if you have something that says turn right on park street. you will be sitting there waiting for music..

The SDK only lets you know when a message is about to start, not how long it is or when it's ended....so the answer is no.

I know but I meant that mapmonkey only works on destinator and not on routis. I'm not familiar with mapmonkey. I searched but couldnt find a brief explanation of what it is. There should be a sticky explaining what it does. That goes for all software I believe. A brief expalanation followed by a list of features would be nice.

Well, the plugin knows how long it's going to be speaking for...so theoretically I could make it keep muting until it's stopped

The problem is I have had no time at all lately for development. I might release the source code for the SAPI plugin, then someone else can do it! (plus it'll help others quickly make other plugins - like the LCD one)

Cool that helps. The, "What is destinator" question and answer should be a sticky on the forum though.

Now find anywhere besides your sig, where it mentions that. I've been around for a while and believe me, I didn't get banned from the newbie forum for spoon feeding them. I agree with you that too many people ask to be spoon fed. That's why I was banned. But there truly does need to be a little more on the mapmonkey forum at least telling people where the homepage is.

Well, I was talking about the Destinator SDK, but if the MM SDK can do that then.....hmmm, release it so I can see how it works!
