I actually have it working Garo, that was in response to rickyaswell. My thought was that he may have extracted it into another folder so ending up with...

C:\DestinatorApps\Map Monkey\Plugins\ExtraPOIPlugin\Garo's Extra POI Plugin\Garo's Extra POI Plugin.exe

I just tried that and it stops it from showing in MM config.

Ok I didn't understand!

However, stay tuned because my new Destinator frontend is almost finished. It is completely skinnable and it has a LOT of features, from a better poi management, full text search for pois and address, analog/digital compass and speedometer, and many more. I did everything keeping an eye on tomtom, since I think it is very comfortable and easier to use than the software we used on our carpc.

Just a couple of screenshot.

If someone wants to betatest, post me in pvt.

For the moment it is based on the old one since the new SDK still doesn't work... However, It should be very easy to convert it with the new SDK as soon as they release a working copy of it!

Garo - do you have the format of the Destinator DAT file ? I want to use POI Edit with this but the guy who wrote it says he does not have the format to out put.

I know worse case I can use Tomtom files but I would rather have Destinator types so I have the option of using say Freedrive.

If its long and complicated can you give him a shout here - http://www.poiedit.com/contact.htm ?

BIG Thanks

I don't have specific of the file, I just have some guidelines and then I proceeded with attempts... However, there are more than just one dat format (I found 5 different formats).

I am coding an alternative program different from poiedit, look on my website, so I won't give around my code. However I'll implement the possibility to autoupdate poi files as soon as I finish GaroNav (I will release it in the next days, stay tuned).

Yep, but lists them in order of distance from your current location.

Theres bug in extraPOI

it is supposed to work with .CSV .DAT files right? but it doesnt. Correct behavior can only be observed with .ov2 files.

I needed to do tests with POI thats easy for human to input. So i typed CSV file by hand... however that didnt work in extraPOI like it was supposed to. So i convert hand written file with your POIconverter to .DAT, that didnt work either. But when i convert same original hand written file with your converter to .ov2 file extraPOI plugin works like it is supposed to!

Problem is that .CSV .DAT file contained POIs appear correctly on favorites (even distance is counted like it should be) but when u look additional information from these favorites, u noticed that lat and lon values both appear to be zero, which also causes that these POIs can't appear on map or u can't ruote to them.

Because of this goddamn bug... i lost quite a bit of time when pondering around it... so i would be really grateful if u could give me info about .DAT (destinator) POI format... I mean if u dont... ill find it out anyhow... u could just save bit of my time....

BTW great software.
