Is this going to be implemented into the Media Engine code base or as an external app? It looks nice. There are some things I noticed.

-UI control needs some work. Or maybe I just need to map Tab on my remote.
-Window size should adjust for resolution.

It looks really promising though and I can't wait to see the finished product.

1BlackHatch, thats not how it'll look. I was just seeing if i could get it working. It'll be fully in ME, so you can switch from gps to mp3 and if you are viewing a movie or in mp3 mode it'll prompt you that your turn is coming up.. thats the plan anyway

Ok. That is exactly what I am hoping for. I am running a composite LCD so mappoint is pretty illegible at best. I can't wait to see it!

Yes, I have started work on the MediaEngine GPS section. I haven't gotten a whole lot done yet though, so I can't tell you much about it. Only that it will be totally integrated into MediaEngine and all you need to use it is install mappoint.

Has there been any progress on this...like I posted before, the implementation of this has me absolutely chomping at the bit. My Destinator implementation is falling a little flat and below expectations....

i'm not sure when it'll be ready. Since i built the core I know there needed to be some fine tuning done. The problem with going GPS is you gotta take some time to test your code on the road. So it makes it a bit more time consuming. More so since we are doing real time routing and turn by turn directions.

Most apps that use mappoint you actually have to type in your start location and your destination. With this you just enter your destination and at any time you can hit a button and it'll find where you are and create a route for you. If you get off track you simply hit the button again and it'll re-route for you.

I played with the beta w/Earthmate USB...it takes a lot to get it to work nicely, but I suspect its more of the shoddy Earthmate serial drivers...the virtual port KEEPS dissappearing on me, forcing reboot/reinstall of the virtual com port...any solutions?
