Is ME open source?

I decided to start a new thread for those of you that didn't follow this one: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...50&goto=postid
Basically, a few questions turned into an open/closed source discussion. Is now seems like ME is becoming (actually already became) a closed source project. I wanted to see what ppl thought of that, how do you think it will affect the user base.
I wish carcomp and other leading developers will respond since it seems like they just don't care. BTW, for those of you that will say go to the IRC channel, I was there a few times and for me it is a waste of time. I spent hours looking for some discussion on code and saw almost nothing it's a great hangout but only if you have a lot of time. I work 10-12 hrs a day (writing code) I don't have time to sit on a channel and read about what ppl did that day.

My basic questions are:
1) Is the current ME (1.7F?) open source? If it is where is the code?
2) Is 2.0 open source? If it is where is the unstable tree?
3) If it is not open source when will the announcement (and changing the description of the project) be made?
4) What do the users of ME think, is it really open source?

I really do not appreciate this kind of response to a project that we have dedicate time, effort, and even a little money to. So what if its open source or not? Whats the big deal? I don't see any reason to complain about that.

You also mentioned that the developers don't care. Man you really ought to talk to us because if we didn't care, then we wouldn't be doing any of this. We spend time every day improving MediaEngine. We put extraordinary detail into making sure that the software won't have bugs, crash, or otherwise do damage to the OS on the installer's PC. If you can't stand to wait, or it just makes you too mad that I choose to distribute the source based on a persons skills demonstrated to me, then use something else. I heard that Gnet canada has a free demo u can use, or you could buy a copy of CarPlayer.
