bug found

I have the 'Power off' command configured on my remote using IRMAN. When I execute this command my laptop running Windows 2000 sp4 successfully goes into standby mode. However on resume from standby mode ME2 is not actually on view in the programs bar. The 4 programs are still running in task manager but they arnt actually showing, just running invisible in the background.

To fix this I have to load task manager and end all the 4 tasks, then re-open ME2.

see sig for my setup

Also another problem I have is after returning from playing a vis and then going back in to the main menu, about 2" of the right hand main screen is chopped off (just a black area). To fix this I have to clsoe and re-open ME2.

OK read all the reports, I think i have two problems quite unique.

I have 500mhz (128mb ram) PII Win98se box - running .27 latest ME binary, and when I go 'startVis' the vis will start, but no matter what i do to exit, it will turn off and on with every keypress after that.

My other problem is when i choose to use me as shell, windows says "Error has occured loading C:\blah\ME.exe Please Reinstall Windows"
and I have to go back in through DOS to change my shell= line back.

Another thing i've noticed is that ME freaks if you try to add/remove etc files from a directory that it is updating it's database from, but this is entirely understandable and not a problem.

Sorry one last thing is that my divx runs horribly but i think it is just underpowered machine.

EDIT: Right forgot another thing, when I press 'Shutdown' then windows networking login pops up and an explorer window opens. Weird.

Thanks.

It is too mutch bugs in ME2.0 so I have to use MediaCar

ME2.0 does not even start on my Epia M (truyed to reformat hdd and reinstall Win XP, then reformated and reinstalled windows 2000 pro) and nothing.

Is there any chance to get new patch for ME2.0?

Its not too much bugs in 2.0, probably just 1 bug holding you up... I bet if we had some one on one chat time I could help you out..

And yes, we will be releasing another version soon... Yes, version, as in an installer... We have neutralized many many bugs since 2.0.27 (we are at 2.0.46 at the time of this posting)...

MediaEngine is an extremely complex program. It does a lot more for you than you think. We strive to make this application function correctly, and truth is, I bet many people download it and use it without saying one thing in here. I have over 500 different people signed up for the mediaengine.org newsletter, and I only hear from a few of them about problems.

Also when running the VIs, the screen somtimes freezes while playing, so the vis just sitts there but the music still play's, then after a while it will come back.

Another thing, when a track is finished playing the Vis stops and goes back to the playlist screen, rather then just playing the next track and keeping the vis on screen.

Still impressed with it though, I'm sure the little niggles will be ironed out

Ron

I get this same problem alot, I had to switch Frontends... ME 2 is still pretty buggy

I think I have a solution to solve this one without massive recoding, when I finish testing it and I'm confident it works properly I will pass the code along to carcomp and phat_b

okay, after having it all working, when i reloaded the system it only get to "refreshing database" until it crashes and says memory to low "run time error '6'" but the thing is that i have 1.3ghz and 256 drr so i wouldn't think it would just crash. M/e2.0 has loaded 105times while trying to refresh the database and i know thats why i get the memory error but how do i fix it ? also something that might be helpful is that i had a lot of songs in the playlist previously :S

I had problems with the buttons not working with a 10.4" touch screen.

I needed to recalibrate, and everything was fine after that. Didn't need to re-install.

But the touch screen worked fine in windows so I think it`s a bug

Hi, running ME ( Latest version with all the patches ) on XP and using the screen res or 848x600. The first screen is ok bar one button which was out by one pixel. I then went to the play back mode and there where loads of gaps... and the bits of the screen was distorted ( ie a chunk moved ) mostly round the mp3 logo up the top.

The skin was desinged and tested under 800x600... sorry I have got not screen shots and it does not stop the correct operation of the software... just looks a bit messy..

Thanks

Terran

The next version handles any resolution you can throw at it, and you can even specify extremes like 3x5000 pixels.. Hehe.. But anyways all of the problems you mention have been taken care of and will be in the next release.

I dont know if ME is supposed to be able to play WMA's but if you add it to the list it seems to fine, the only problem is it isnt reading the ID Tags right, the track title comes out ok but the artist and cd are always unknown, all my WMA's are VBR encoded and labeled by windows media player 9

I am having the exact same problem. Once the track get finish playing in Vis mode it freezes up and then a pop up asks to retry or switch to. I have to end the program using taskmanager. The WMP.exe stops responding and causes ME to crash. Do we have a work around for this?
