I have the same problem here
MediaEngine 2.0.27
DB Engine 1.08
WinXP SP1
Epia 800
256Mb Ram
40GB HDD
Lilliput 7"Touch
25point calibration

The Touch screen works in windows in the area where the buttons are.
If I turn on the mouse in Mediaengine the mouse moves to where the buttons are and the buttons almost flicker.
Its almost like the calibration is wrong, yet its perfect in windoze.
Keep up the great work
Thanks

The buttons only light up and do something when you click them. Why else would they be buttons? They would have to be markers or something if they just stayed highlighted. This does not apply to the main menu though, since those are selections.... In the future, touchscreen mode will only highlite the button you touch as well. And only when you touch it. If you take your touch off, the button will go back to its "un pushed" state.

And what do you mean by the buttons don't work? Like, when you click them nothing happens? Buttons not working implies a lot of things. Also, having your touchscreen set up where instead of a touch equals a mouse click, set it up so that holding your finger on the screen is equivalent to holding down the mouse button.... Some buttons are designed to repeat (so you don't have to bang your finger against the screen over and over)...

Had a similar problem. Changed how it functioned, and did a re-calibrate and now it all works.

I have 500mhz (128mb ram) PII Win98se box - running .27 latest ME binary, and when I go 'startVis' the vis will start, but no matter what i do to exit, it will turn off and on with every keypress after that.

My other problem is when i choose to use me as shell, windows says "Error has occured loading C:\blah\ME.exe Please Reinstall Windows"
and I have to go back in through DOS to change my shell= line back.

Another thing i've noticed is that ME freaks if you try to add/remove etc files from a directory that it is updating it's database from, but this is entirely understandable and not a problem.

Sorry one last thing is that my divx runs horribly but i think it is just underpowered machine.

EDIT: Right forgot another thing, when I press 'Shutdown' then windows networking login pops up and an explorer window opens. Weird.

Thanks.

Has anyone got any thoughts on these problems? i'm still having them and can't install my carputer untill i've worked them out..
thanks

ME is the best.... but there are these annoying bugs:

If I have full screen visualizations and the song changes, the screen goes completely black. The mouse is still active, and I can go to the start menu if I hit the windows button, but media engine just doesn't come back and I have to kill it and restart it... This also sometimes happens when I come back from standby mode after having gone into standby mode when full screen visualizations were on..

If I click on "videos" twice the application crashes

Otherwise.. GREAT STUFF!

P.S. Using latest build with patches from mediaengine.org. Hey need any help fixing bugs? I wanna help! jason@dictos.com
