Feature request. Browsing database.
When browsing through the database the Enter/OK and the Forward button do the same thing. They go farther and farther down the database until a media file is reached at the end and then that file is executed, and all other files in that directory are loaded into the play list.
I suggest that the forward button keep the same functionality as above, but the Enter/OK button will load all files in the current directory and subdirectories into the play list, and play the first song.
I have my directories structured as MP3/Genre/Artist/Album. This feature would allow me to play all files, all files in a genre/ and all files by an artist where now I can only play single albums. The search database feature works ok for this, but all my tags are not exactly up to par which makes using this feature difficult.

Any feedback on this? This is the only feature I REALLY miss from the old days of CobraIII.

This is exactly how my CarBox software works. Recurses all file down from the directory you select, which could be one album, all albums by an artist, all albums by genre, etc.

Also a button feature be added that would allow you to add to the current play list "not permanently of course, just a one time thing". Anyway the different button would either be pressed to enter the database and the play list would be selected normally, or the play list entered as normal and the different button be used to "add" the selected play list to the current play list.
A feature for the ability to add a single track from a play list would be cool also.

(Spellchecked, I wanted to get the next post out while I still remembered what I wanted to say.)

Its a possibility... We are trying to get a bugfix out right now though, so we probably won't implement it this time, but its definately doable.. You have to know how the m.e database works though... Its not *exactly* based off directories, so it may take a little time to get it to work correctly... Also, you may be looking at a small "wait" while the playlist is being built... only time can tell on how it will work, but if we do it, it will work good

I think I figured out a way for the buttons to work.
The normal SWMP button would be used to enter the database. At the top, above the return to previous database arrow thing, there would be 2 options which could be scrolled to and selected. The options would be load play list and load file. The selection would default to load play list every time the file browser is opened.
In play list mode once a selection is made, and the enter key is struck, all tracks in the current directory and all sub directories are added to the play list.
In file mode once the enter key is struck and the selector is not on a file, the browser will go down a level in the hierarchy. If the selector is on a file, that file would be loaded into the play list.
If the SWMP is substituted for the enter key in the previous two paragraphs, they will function the same except the current play list will not be cleared, the selected play list or track will simply be added to the end of whatever is currently in the currently playing play list.
